Can you hear me now?

Don’t miss what God has for you because you are too busy to give Him your whole heart.

In the 2000s, Verizon Wireless’ advertising campaign, “Can you hear me now?” was a huge success and considered one of the best of all times. In the commercial no matter where the actor was located he could be heard and connect with the person on the other line. Can believers hear who’s on the other end?

We serve a great and mighty living God. He is not a distant deity who has left us to fend for ourselves, trying to figure this crazy life out. Our God not only wants us to communicate with Him, but He desires to communicate with us. This is crucial for the life of the believer.

God says, “You will seek Me, and find ME, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). This indicates that we must actively be in search for God. Your whole heart and your whole being must be invested in getting a glimpse of Him and/or hearing God speak. Watch for Him at work in your life.

We can fool others and we can fool ourselves, but we cannot fool God. He knows our heart and everything in it. We should desire Him above everything. Listen to what I am telling you. When you are truly seeking, and searching for God He will let you find Him (v. 14). He tells us this in the very next verse.

The walk of faith and trust in Jesus requires humility. We must humble ourselves as He humbled Himself (Philippians 2:5-8). If you earnestly desire to hear His voice come to Him. Not as an act of religion or purely for information, but as a child; a child who wants to be at his Father’s feet.

You were saved for a greater purpose and He want to show you. God has set you apart and has given you His Holy Spirit to dwell inside of you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:4-8). This world and everything in it will never fill you. Give yourself to the one who holds it all. He whispers low, but to the heart that is willing to hear, you will know His voice (John 10:27)
